Amigos Dive Center owner, Wayne Kinard, certainly enjoys cave diving, but more importantly, he enjoys meeting people. And not only does Amigos Dive Center have “The Best Gas in Cave Country,” but they also have one of the friendliest dive shop owners around. That’s why Wayne loves to throw a party!
Wayne invites all his friends out to celebrate Amigos anniversary each year on the weekend of the third Monday in January with food, music, prizes, great deals, and a lot of fun. The tradition of great celebrations continues this year when Amigos Dive Center celebrates 6 years in business serving the divers of “Cave Country.”
This three day event begins on Saturday January 19th and ends with the Grand Finale on Monday January 21st. Along with a lot of friendship and camaraderie, there will be prizes, food, music, and the lowest prices of the year on dive equipment and fills!
Wayne says he discounts gear so low during these celebrations that the manufacturers get nervous but he’s reassured them and several will be on hand to showcase the latest in cave and tech dive gear. Not only that, many have helped out with fantastic door prizes for attendees.
Along with the prizes, Amigos is giving away free gas! For the three day anniversary celebration air fills are free! Nitrox, Oxygen, and Trimix are all half price! How’s that for customer appreciation?
The campfire will be burning every night and there will be food, fun, and friendship. Saturday’s and Sunday’s cookout is Hot Dogs and Hamburgers with some “biscuits on a stick” around the fire, but Monday is the day to eat well and have a good time.
Monday night is the big party with a feast and live bluegrass music. The menu includes fried chicken, oysters, clams, venison, marinated pork, several types of seafood chowder, and most importantly, “Janet’s Famous Cowboy Beans!”
Wayne says over 300 people attended last year’s party along with some well behaved pets and exotic animals. Cave divers and other strange animals are welcome this year as well so come on out, bring a friend and enjoy the party!
Along with Wayne’s knowledge and great personality, it’s the divers who have made Amigos a success. Amigos pumped over 750,000 cubic feet of gas last year and added 514 new customers. Currently there are customers from 62 countries including the newest one- Bulgaria! Wayne says Amigos growth and success is more than he ever imagined and he thoroughly enjoys showing his appreciation to the people who have supported Amigos Dive Center.
