High Pressure Hoses Recalled

Three importers have announced a recall of black braided high pressure hoses sold by retailers and on-line between August 2011 and August 2012 because of the potential for rupture and rapid gas loss. The recall was announced November 7, 2012 after receiving 9 reports of burst hoses. No injuries have been reported.

This recall affects approximately 2,590 total units with Phantom and Mesh Flex brand names printed only on the product packaging. The distributors and quantity sold are: Innovative Scuba Concepts- 1900. Trident Diving Equipment- 480. A-Plus Marine- 210. Lengths vary from 6 inches to 40 inches and all are black braided high pressure hoses.

The recalled hoses can be identified by production date codes stamped into the metal fitting that attaches to the regulator with the following codes:

Innovative Scuba Concepts: 11Q3, 11Q4 and 12Q1

Trident Diving Equipment: T0811, T0911, T1011, T1111, T1211, T0112, and T0212

A-Plus Marine: 11Q3, 11Q4, and 12Q1

Consumers should immediately stop using the hoses and contact Innovative Scuba Concepts, Trident Diving Equipment or A-Plus Marine to receive instructions for obtaining a free replacement hose.
